1. In a circuit with 12 volts and 4 ohms of resistance, the current is:

  • A) 48 amps
  • B) 3 amps
  • C) 8 amps
  • D) 0.33 amps

Answer: B) 3 amps. I = E ÷ R = 12 ÷ 4 = 3 A.

2. Adding more bulbs in parallel to a circuit causes total resistance to:

  • A) Decrease
  • B) Stay the same
  • C) Become infinite
  • D) Increase

Answer: A) Decrease. Each new path lowers total resistance in a parallel circuit.

3. A fuse blows as soon as a circuit is switched on. The MOST likely cause is:

  • A) High resistance
  • B) An open circuit
  • C) A weak battery
  • D) A short to ground

Answer: D) A short to ground. A short to ground causes very high current that blows the fuse.

4. A voltage drop test should be done with the circuit:

  • A) Turned off
  • B) Disconnected from the battery
  • C) On and carrying current
  • D) Open

Answer: C) On and carrying current. Voltage drop only shows up when current flows.

5. Resistance should be measured with an ohmmeter:

  • A) Only on fuses
  • B) With the circuit unpowered
  • C) In series with the load
  • D) With the circuit powered

Answer: B) With the circuit unpowered. Circuit voltage gives false readings and can damage the meter.

  • A) 48 amperios
  • B) 3 amperios
  • C) 8 amperios
  • D) 0.33 amperios

Respuesta: B) 3 amperios. I = E ÷ R = 12 ÷ 4 = 3 A.

  • A) Disminuye
  • B) Queda igual
  • C) Se vuelve infinita
  • D) Aumenta

Respuesta: A) Disminuye.

  • A) Alta resistencia
  • B) Un circuito abierto
  • C) Batería débil
  • D) Un corto a tierra

Respuesta: D) Un corto a tierra.

  • A) Apagado
  • B) Desconectado de la batería
  • C) Encendido y con corriente
  • D) Abierto
